New to Year 3

Welcome to Saltersgate Junior School. On this page you will find useful information about our Year 3 curriculum, and year group specific information regarding your child's entry into Year 3, some of which you will have already received from your Infant school class teacher. We hope you find this helpful and we look forward to welcoming you to our Saltergate Junior School community.

Below you will find the subject areas that will be covered by Year 3 pupils in the Autumn and Spring terms.

If you wish, you can support your child at home by introducing and extending the learning that we will cover. For example, looking at books, pictures and visiting sites linked to the Roman era and it's impact on Doncaster; growing your own plants and vegetables and discussing how to keep them healthy; or beginning to name some of the more common bones in the human body and discussing how we can help to keep ourselves healthy.

Frequently asked questions:

Will my child need to wear a school logo uniform?

No, supermarket and high street brand uniforms are absolutely fine, however, if you wish to purchase uniform with the school logo it is available through Cliffs. (They are currently asking you to ring and make an appointment.)

Basic school uniform is:

- red polo neck t-shirt,

- black or grey trousers or skirt 

- navy blue jumper or cardigan (with or without school logo)

- black school shoes
